Default Vague Steering - 02 Neon R/T

My Neon has vague steering and seems to wander across the road slightly. The last service said there are some splitting wishbone rubbers - would changing these solve the problem?

How difficult is this job?

What are the BEST new rubbers to replace tham with? Is it worth buying stiff ones from a tuning shop ($120 a set) or originals from Chrysler dealer? My Neon has done only 34,000 miles.

Many thanks

If your steering seems vague from what it used to be and you bushings are deteriorating then that would be a good place to start. Also make sure the rest of you suspension is up to snuff with no play in any of the parts. It can also just be a sign of too much toe out. Say you or someone smacked a curb and knocked out toe. Also check you rack & Pinion mounting making sure it is tight.
