I've done it several times. You don't need motor mounts to do it. They would help definitely...but it will still happen w ithout them. You will just get some crazy *** hopping. Here is about the only pic I have, there is a little puff of smoke by my drivers side tire. It'd be easier to see if you saw the pics leading to that. But I wasn't going for smoke, I was going for a hard launch. Probably the best one I did...I didn't really mean to do. But I was holding the car and about 3k and let it out and it just sat there burning them. I looked out my window and smoke was billowing out of my wheel well. I let off the rpms a bit and got traction and drove away, and smelled that burnt rubber smell.

that is probably the most stupidest thing you could POSSIBLY DO!

those are the kids that think money grows on trees.

and if your out to try and impress the ladies or your "friends"

why dont you build up your neon

and show it off and not burn your tires into small lil pancakes?

The tires are the least of your worries.
It's the transmission, trust us, don't do it.
I did a few times and now I get a grinding noise from the tranny occasionally
when I put it in gear.

Serves me right (But I have a warranty).

I doubt they'll cover that under warranty, they'll say "normal wear and tear". I don't do burnouts hardly at all, but my tranny shifts as good right now as the day I bought it.

yeah it is not good for the tranny either, granted i have done it and yes if you get it right you can get alot of smoke coming form the tires. i have done it one time when leaving my work, and with a built head, i went to about four grand dumped the clutch and smoked the two front tires, then threw second gear, and took off in third(cherped) but the people that where working said that you could not see my car, i left two black marks about 20 foot long in the middle of the parking lot.....but that was the only time i had done it, it was right when i had my head built and put on and i just wanted to see what it could do, the only other time i have done it is at the strip, but like said above you do not go for smoke, you go for traction!!!!!!

i would not do it alot, or you will pay later.... with trany tires, and cv shafts....i have broke a cv shaft at the track before...trust me it is not fun!!! and very embarising!!!!

Don't be embarrised about it...the track I go to. About every three cars someone will break something, so it seems anyways. I luckily have never broke anything there.
