the mopar perfomance cam is accually rated at 6hp more than a magnum head, not stock to. when i worked a a dodge garage i made sure that was not the case, i did not want to go with something that was stock in a magnum, i wanted to be better than a magnum...the tech told me that the hp gain was based on a magnum head and not a se head...so if you wanted you would see a gain of alittle with a mopar cam......just something to think about

ok the too clear things up the with crane 12 and mopar cam will make little bit more horse power but not much more . But you will see much better gains with the bigger ones the crane 14 and comp400 and they don't make the car unstreetable so if you gonna spend the money why not get thebigger ones or else you might regret it.

accually the mopar six horse cam is about in the middle of a crane 12 and a crane 14, it has a nice idol and it has a good top end, it is up to you really, but i do not see a point of spending 100-150 more on the crane cam when the specks are almost the same as a mopar cam, lob, and duration.....

The fact is the Crane 14 is worthless unless you go AF/x PCM or MSnS to get rid of the rev limiter....the 14 makes the most power from 5600-7500 and your limited to 6750. The Comp 400 was not only designed specifically for the magnum head, but it was also designed to create the same amount of power as the Crane 14 but within the stock rev limit. As for the Mopar cam, sure its probably a good buy if he had the normal SOHC but he doesnt want to got through the "trouble" (its not that hard though) of swapping cams just to get 6ish horsewpoer from it...

yes the comp cams are good i am just telling you the difference between the crane and mopar, honestly if you go with a crane, you are paying for the name taht is it, the comp cams are a good cam however, and can get you some more power out of it.....

Do the R/T and ACR models with the magnum engines have higher compression than the base model neons? What is the compression on the magnum engine anyways?
