Default What would I need to

Add 70+ hp to a stock 2005 SXT without going turbo or srt-4 engine swap.
Im just going through different options and was wondering what small little things could eventually add up.

Better intake, better exhaust, better wires, better plugs, synthetic oil in theall the needed places, under drive pulley, better throttle body, the list is long.......Moden Performance has a big choice of upgrades.

for 70+ HP your looking at:

CAI
60mm TB
Ported Magnum Intake or Indy Intake
Crane Cam #0014 + valve springs
Cam Gear
P&P Head
Long Tube Header
Full Exhaust System
Better Ignition Coil
Under Drive Pulley
MegaSquirt Tuned ECU

That there is far more than that. But... it is a short list to give you an idea

It wont be possible to have a streetable reliable 200whp SOHC...not cheap anyways. Its a VERY long list and your looking at a complete engine build along with every bolt on possible and thousands and thousands of dollars. Not to mention it would be FAR from anything close to being reliable.
Some things you'll need...

Forged pistons (12.5++ compression)...{you'll need to run 100+ octane at all times as well}
Forged connecting rods
MagnumHead race portedand deckedto the max.
Knife edged and lightened crank
Race balanced and blue printed block
Over sized valves, titanium valve springs, retainers...
Crane #005 (#16)cam
AEM Adjustable Cam Gear (with timing advanced 4 degrees or so)
Custom "box" intake manifold
Longtube header
60mm TB
Cold Air Intake
2.5"-3" full exhaust
MSD Coilpack
MSD Wires
Denso iridium plugs (hotter)
Full standalone (MSnS)
A LOT of dyno tuning since you'll need to rev to 9k+
Good clutch and torsen differential
UDP with P/S and A/C removed

I think thats everything but theres always something missing...

Well an appropriate turbo build will have the same length list...it just wont cost as much, it would be more reliable, and you would be producing more power once you were done.

obviously. However... doing a lot of those N/A modifications helps in the long run with a turbo. So.. haha..

I say it all costs too DARN much

Well pretty much every component on that list can be used on a turbo build, you would just change the piston compressions and camshaft accordingly, but everything else would help a F/I or N/A build,
