first mods to a 04 neon sxt
Unfortunately we both have the NGC computer. You will not build much extra HP with it. Probably the best things you can do is underdrive pulley and exhaust and intake. Should be a couple. If not enough you probably need cams and then on to megasquirt.
ngc stands for next generation computer. its on all 03+ dodge cars and to make a long story short it forces your car to run like it did out of the factory which means that you dont get too much hp from mods. best site for stuff is modernperformance.com and howellautomotive.com is ok too but ive heard bad things about their shipping times
Oh boy here we go again with the NGC crap...while the NGC does attempt to compensatefor the increase in HP by changing your A/F ratios it can only do so much...the actual HP being "robbed" from your modification is minimal and you will see almost the same gains as if you put those mods onto a 00-02 Neon. There is ZERO evidence to support ther NGC can literally take away horsepower from the mods you add-on, it can reduce the mods affect but only to a cetain extent.
Some first mods you should do are: Cold Air Intake (K&N Typhoon), Lightweight Underdrive Pulley (Unorthodox Racing), Short Throw Shifter, and maybe some front/rear strut tower bars and lowering springs for some suspension mods. Othe mods you can do are swaps fromth e magnum engine, such as the cam, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and the head.
