Default radio electrical issue

Hello,

Our clock and radio are behaving strangely in our 2001 Neon. Sometimes the radio will work and sometimes it won't. Often times the clock will reset to 12:00 and the radio will go to 530 AM automatically. Sometimes the buttons on the radio won't work at all and if it is on, it stays on. There are also times when the clock won't turn off even after the engine has shut off. Anybody have an idea of what causes these problems?

Thanks.

i have no idea but i would suggest checking all your power wires and whatnot and jiggling them when the radio is on to see if they are loose

if ya got a bum radio, just as a tip, and don't want to go aftermarket.... there are plenty of stock ones w/CD being sold on e-bay... and the Dodge/chrysler ones are all the same for those certain years so any from a Dakota, Durango, SEbring Stratus, whatever will fit and are very easy to switch out. just 4 screws and a plug at the back.
I replaced the cassette one with a CD one in my 2004 for about 40 bucks.

what the heck was a cassette doing in a 2004 car anyway?
