I am going to change my stock camshaft and cam gear with a comp 400 camshaft and a fidanza gear. I was reading about what you have to do to get the camshaft out and it said i have to drain the coolant, take off the head, the header, and the intake manifold. Is this true or is there any easier way to do it or is that the only way?
no just timing belt has too come of and cam gear then tilt the motor. take out the battery and fuse box and it slide out. you might wanna take out the rocker assembly it makes the cam come out alot faster
so i gotta take the motor mounts loose to tilt the motor right? And then just take off the cam gear and timing belt. How do i get off that plastic cover that is over the timing belt and gear?
yeah you gotta take them of anyway when you do the timing belt. and you got too do timing belt too get the cam gear of.
fyi remember in the old cam there is magnet you have too take it out and put it in the new cam. I forgot the the first time I did mine lol
