Since a turbo for a single cam sxt engine is roughly $7g would it be easier and cheaper to swap to a r/t or srt-4 engine?

 

well i don't kno where you got your information from but you can turbo a sxt for about 3000 check the turbo sticky. also the r/t is also sohc and would have basically the same turbo swap parts as a sxt. srt swap can run you anywhere from 4000-7000

 

Actually a full turbo kit will cost you $2k-$5k max...then you can spend that extra money on an engine build so you can push the boost past 10-12psi. A full SRT-4 engine swap will cost anywhere from $3k-$5k as well if you do everything yourself, and an R/T engine is just an SXT engine with a bunch of better components on it.

 

so fare i have spent, 2300 on my turbo kit, and that includes the clutch!!! i got a used kit off a friends saturn, and used the turbo, piping, blow off valve, and intercooler, for 500, so that saved me alot, with boost gauge, map clamp, guage pod and oil pressure gauge, and air to fuel ratio gauge, along with injectors, and i have ran the car with a stock fuelpump for a few months, so i need to upgrade that, i am looking at 3000, when it is said and done, but that also includes an intercooler sprayer..... but remember when you buy a kit, you should upgrade your clutch, and that does not come in a kit, just a reminder..
