Default srt4 engine swap into a 2001 plymouth neon!

I am determined to find a srt4 engine, tranny, mounts, harnesses, and all other required items for this swap. Can anyone help me out and tell me where i could find a engine and tranny.Would it be better to just buy a whole wrecked srt4 since it would have all the parts i would need anyways. I know you have to cut into the frame on the 1st gen neons for this swap is this also true for the 01 neon? If it can be done for $15,000 or less i will get this swap into the 01 plymouth. My plan is to eventually turn my 01 plymouth neon into an srt4. With the plymouth badging and srt4 badging it would be a 1 of a kind. Would i also need to get a new front bumper that would be more compatible with the srt4 intercooler. The 01 front bumper isn't exactly friendly to any type of intercooler i wouldn't think, there is little room for air especially for an intercooler. So if anyone could help i would appreciate it.

Easiest would to be to buy a salvaged srt4 rather then just buying all the necessary parts. You would most likely have to put a srt nose on. But I'm sure if you were diehard on leaving the 01 nose on that you could do it with a grinder.

thanks man. I figured it would be cheaper to just buy the whole srt4. I would like to keep the stock 01 bumper on it, it'll be a sleeper from hell if i can pull it off. I just don't see how that little space in the front can support enough airflow for the intercooler. I am determined to pull it off though.

Say I'm trying 2 get more horses out of mine also I have an 00 plymouth right now I'm going w/ a pacesetter cat-back exhaust and headers but how many horses can I push out w/ a new aftermarket intake manifold and piston set? And if anyone knows waht brand is better for intake manifold.

I would just buy an SRT-4. I kinda regret buying my Neon ES. I could have went to Ebay and got a SRT-4 with less miles for less.

If the poster goes this route, I'd suggest getting one that ISN'T modified at all. You don't know how the previous owner would have treated the car.

Swapping the engine is a good idea though because you get the power without the added insurance cost
