Default drilling through dash, any suggestions?

hey guys--just a few questions maybe someone can get back within the hour b/c i'm doing this job later tonight--

i'm installing the fog lights--my question is not about them but about drilling through the dash...have any of you added some switches to your car? i want to add the switch for the fog light to the left of the steering wheel but then was thinking maybe the panel where the window switches are might be easier?? any tips or suggestions? just a regular drill would do the trick through the plastic-y like material they use???

i've got the wiring all figured out, now i just have to do it... and mount the fog lights..oh one other question--to mount the fog light that is on the passenger's side..where the windshield washer fluid bottle is? does that come out easy or is there an easier way..? i think someone had said pull back the fender after taking off the wheel but was just wondering if any of you have replaced the bulb in the fog lights and you would know how to get back there too?!?!?

please i'd like to know about the drilling and how to get back there to tighten the nuts of the fog lights--i'm doing this in about an hour or so... let me know! thanks!

For the drilling part a dremel works best. Take your time so as not to make a hole too big. And mounting the lights i took the plastic splash gaurd off from under the car.... the one attached to the bumper and you have tons of room!! Good luck!

make sure when you drill through the dash to go VERY SLOW!!! because the drill will go right through it and you dont want to go to far. i almost did when i installed my a/f gauge in an srt boost gauge pod

do you just use a tool or a drill bit of the size you need... like you use a dremel tool and just move around to make the custom hole or you actually use the correct size bit.. i'm looking for a 5/16" hole for the switch...

also, on another note guys--does anyone know if you have a "spare" spot in the "fuse relay center" under the hood--i have a spare relay spot..can you custom that and add another relay yourself? in other words, can you remove the "fuse relay center" ? and also, can you add the socket in order to accept the relay??? i want to use a relay with the fog light installation and that'd be a good spot to put it, right next to another already existing relay for the radiator fan.... just a thought to make it really custom, just don't know if the "fuse relay center" under the hood can be removed in order to do the work???

any help with that?

As far as where to mount the switch I would advise you to sit in your seat just like you would while driving and reach to the possible places for the switch and pretend to flip an imaginary switch. Sounds kind of dumb, but you will figure out where you like it best. If you know that you need exactly a 5/16" I would use a 5/16" drill bit, and go very slow. You can spin the drill quickly, but push very lightly. If you're using a Dremel go very slow and keep widening it until the switch fits snugly. I've never opened up the Fuse Relay Centre but if you have an empty slot I'm sure you can use it. You will have to check it out.

just use a drill for the dash that should suffice i believe there is a way to do that relay thingy but i don't know how. if you do find out let me know cuz ive been wanting to do that and run all of my electronics off os a separate fuse. as for the switch itself i would put it in a place that is not seen. such as under something or behind it but that you can still reach. only reason is because it will look cleaner without a random switch just sitting there
