RS-Autosports sells already assembled MS kits...you'll want the MS-I V.3.0 with the Neon/420A configuaration loaded with the NGC Firmware and ready for MS'n'S.

http://www.rs-autosport.net/catalog/index.php
Do I really need the MS'n'S? I read that people run stock spark curves just fine and really never even have to modify them until they are running more than like 10 pounds of boost. I think I will probably add on the fan control and tach output...my ES doesn't even have a tach but I can buy an srt-4 cluster for like $40 off ebay :P

For an R/T its nearly a must to have the MS'n'S since the R/T PCM likes to pull spark timing and do whatever the hell it wants (she doesnt like boost apparently). But for the standard NGC PCM you probably wouldnt need to...but really why wouldnt you do it? There are already tons of spark tables that you could start off with and just work your way up from there as far as tuning...plus its not much more time/difficulty to have your MS control spark as it is for just fuel.

You're probably right but the fact is, I really have no idea how to install the thing. It seems that installing the MS'n'S is more difficult than just the MS. That brings up another question I had before...should I take this somewhere to install? Do you think there are specialty shops that will know what the heck megasquirt is?

It really depends on how proficient you are with electronics and wiring. The MS unit will be in the passenger compartment so you'll need to run the wiring harness through the firewall...then you just hook up the input/outputs which is accomplished by tapping into the main PCM plugs. Its obvioulsy more involved than that, but you get the idea...if you suck at wiring i wouldnt try the install. As for performace shops, I dont trust most of them and there are very few that actaully have experience with Neons and MS. If the shop can install an AEM standalone or anyting like that however, you should be fine.

As for your MS unit, you dont need the tach output or the fan control as far as i know. While your Neon didnt come with a tach its already wired for one, so your good to go. And the PCM is still controlling your radiator fan so your good there as well. You'll also need the GM IAT sensor, CLT sensor, and a wiring harness...

you just use this wiring daigram
