Hey all....I have been searching and searching and can't find any good information on running Megasquirt in my car (2003 Neon SE auto). There are plenty of posts that talk a bit about it but nothing that really says anything revealing about it. I have questions that I can't seem to find answers to...maybe someone can help.

1. Does Megasquirt work well? What kind of power and curve improvements should one expect?
2. Is it that hard to install? If I buy a full kit from this website I found - http://www.glensgarage.com/catalog/m...bled-p-71.html - do you think it will have everything I need?
3. If not, where can I go to get a complete kit because I am not inclined to piece it together?
4. Is it recommended to have a speciality shop install this thing?
5. Are there better alternatives to Megasquirt or other ECU/Fuel management options out there?
6. Are other mods necessary for Megasquirt to work properly?

I apologize in advance if there are other posts with this information....maybe I'm just a dork and am bad at looking around in the right places. Any information would be totally appreciated. Thanks! By the way, the only mod I have on my car at the moment is CAI from AEM.

 

its ok most people dont know much about megasquirt and im glad you want to do it. the only thing is that you might not see too many gains from it unless you have other mods. you need to dyno tune it to get the full effect and i would suggest getting a wideband a/f ratio gauge that youcan hook up to it so it can tune that way. good luck and let me know how it goes because i will be doing megasquirt soon

 

there are better setups like the dfi and aem but youll pay throw the teeth

its an inexpensive but reliable stand alone, about 1500 to 2000 less then its compation at 400 its almost as good

 

RS-Autosports sells already assembled MS kits...you'll want the MS-I V.3.0 with the Neon/420A configuaration loaded with the NGC Firmware and ready for MS'n'S.

I checked out the MS at rs-autosport.net and there are all these other options and I have absolutely no idea what I should get. I think I'm gonna ask them for advice. Otherwise, does anyone else know what extra options I should get, i.e. 2.5-bar, 3.0-bar, fan control output, etc?

 

that depens on what you have and your future plans. if your turbod or goin turbod and lookin to build your motor then youll want 3 bar

 

I do plan on putting a turbo on at some point....maybe not for like another year

 

then get the 3-bar its not that muh more expensive and it will save you trouble later on
