Neon HP-to-ground
This came up in a different thread a while back, so I thought I would enlighten those who wanted to know. After some research, I found the average horsepower ratings for 6 different 2nd-gen Neons, all new factory stock (and all 5-spd, theoretically the same cars), and averaged together their HP ratings on the dyno (all ratings were within 1 hp and 150 RPM of each other) and I found the following:
Averagepeak power at wheels: 116.57 HP @ 5650 RPM
"Advertised" power at flywheel: 132 HP
Total drivetrain loss: 11.69 % (15.43 HP loss stock)
Just some info, I know some people were asking about it previously so I thought I'd dig and find out for myself.

I've always found that the WHP is closer to 110 then 120 (and closer to 100whp on an ATX)...but its going to vary no matter what because no car dynos the same as another car no matter how "exact" they are. And yeah, you WILL have more WHP/WTQ then any ricer Civic as long as you drive an MTX (excluding the Si and maybe the brand new EX Civics...).

Don't look at just HP look at Torque. Until you reach 5252 RPM you have more Torque than HP so area under the curve may be even more than (Should be) your buddies Honda. Peak HP is great with close ratio gear boxes and keeping the engine in the power-band. Other wise it is torque that gets ya going.
