Default wierd cold starts

Sometimes in the morning wen i start my car it will idle normal and then about 10 seconds after i turn it on it will start to make abogging noise like its not getting enough air or fuel or something and sounds like its bogging down and i have to rev it once or twiceand then it acts normal, it actuallystalled offone time wen i didnt rev it. Is this normal or is there something wrong? But the day it actually cut off was wen it was like 40 degrees outside but idk if that has anything to do with it. It doesnt happen every cold start but usually wen its colder out and i have let it sit overnight.

Mine does this in the winter when it gets really cold...happened the other day when it was about 15 degrees outside...before that the only other time it did it was last winter. Its been that cold since it happend though, and it hasnt done it again, so i'm not concerned about it, yet...

Hmmm...sounds like you got a problem. Mine idles around 1000rpm when its cold out. It settles down to 800rpm after a minute or two of running.

Once in a great great while mine will do it too (hard start),but weather doesn't effect mine too much... the other morning it was minus 15 here and it sat for two days in the cold like that, but once it cranked over it fired right up and idled at 1200 rpm or so until it got warm... my biggest problem in the cold lately is throwout bearing (or input shaft bearing?) noise that I can't seem to diagnose very well but that's it.

yea im pretty sure its just the cold air because its so dense, because it was hot this morning and it started perfectly. But sometimes wen it gets 40 or below it likes to act up. It will idle at around 1200 rpm and then go down once it warms a little but i think its just from the cold air being so dense escpecially because i live in florida and the humidy is like 100% all the time lol.

Hmm yeah, and keep in mind that the colderthe airgets, the more fuel your ECU will throw into the mix at startup, and the more advanced your timing goes, which can cause higher idle. As your engine warms up more, the idle should go down... same goes for the temperature of the air going into your intake... the hotter it is, the less fuel and less advance... etc.

Believe me I researched and toyed with all of this cuz' I live in Iowa now, and this last summer it hit 100 degrees or more for a while, and tonight it's supposed to be negative 13 degrees plus the wind, so I've learned quick how much temperature is screwing with my Neon!
