SMIC = Side Mount Intercooler

FMIC = Front Mount Intercooler

 

I thought there was only a front intercooler. Do u need a side intercooler? Do the SRT-4s and other cars have a SMICs?

 

A side mount is cheaper, and is generally less efficient than FMIC's...cars are only equipped with FMIC's or SMIC's (never both)...the Probe was a POS to begin with, so it got a POS side mount intercooler to match the theme.

 

So the options with a turbo kit is either non intercooled, SMIC, then FMIC?

 

Yeah you could say that...there are also TMIC's (Top Mount Intercoolers) that sit on top of the engine and get the air flow from a hood scoop (The Subaru STi, Mazda Speed6, and a few others have TMIC's).

yeah sorry man i really wanted it but my dad told me it would be a "waste" of money. IDK. If you really have trouble selling definitely try putting it on e-bay.

 

Ok so I pm'd cause I am really interested in this kit. I have the money easily and I asked several questions like how many miles this kit was driven on. Any other things I should know about before I actually fork over $1400?
