My local muffler shop stocks Flowmasters. They quoted me $120 to put on a 40 series Flowmaster which includes parts and labor. I have looked at a MagnaFlow Universal polished muffler. Anyone prefer one over the other? Anyone know which sounds better or performs better?

i love my magnaflow, the only thing is when you get a universal make sure you tell them you do not want it high pitched, the universal round tube mufflers sound like crap!! but i love mine i will look to see what model it is tonight!!

RE: Replacing muffler
I had my local shop do mine... I have a 30-series Flowmaster on my car, and I paid just slightly more than that for the muffler and install. I would recommend the Flowmaster to you, only because it has a slightly deeper rumble to it than most other exhausts you usually hear on 4- and 6-cylinders, and makes it a lot more distinctive, respectable, lower, and acceptable tone than most other exhaust thats for sure (not to mention it performs better than stock exhaust obviously).

RE: Replacing muffler
Does anyone make an exhaust kit that does NOT have dual exit pipes? I would like to keep the stock look while increasing performance.

Or would I just need to replace the stock muffler with a flowmaster leaving everything else intact?
