Has anyone ever had a problem with there key not turning to open the trunk? I have not been able to open my trunk for a while now, and because I have a bear bones 2000 neon, I do not have a release switch in the cab. Does anyone know a fix?

 

theres no release? theres got to be. its in the glovebox. if its not there climb in through the back seat and there should be a handle by the latch that you pull and it opens. its in case you accidentally lock yourself in yout trunk

 

First go to the wrecker and get your self a new latch,so that when you open it up you can replace it right away.Your key should work on the new one as well.

 

Yeah, there should be a emergency latch.

 

yeah i have a 2000 neon le and i was suprised to find no trunk latch in the cab.....my dad has a 98 neon and it does......you would think that they wouldnt take it out in a newer car

I've seen two 2001 Neons do this, try some lock lube in the lock and see if that helps. Mine only has the emergency release in the trunk so you have to go through the back seats to get to it.

 

Yes, I was supprised there was no release either. I already crawled in the trunk, no emergency release. I am in Germany, not too many junk Neons around here. I will try the lube for now. Thanks for the help.
