coil and wires will give you nothing but a smoother idle. you will get better acceleration with a udp

What he said...the UDP is well worth it in my opinion.

With the underdrive pulley you will notice a tremendous difference in acceleration with the ac on but other than that it's not much of a difference with the ac off.

Hold on...
Why do you say that? The reason I ask is because I have the AFX under drive pulley and I already had to replace my alternator.

well our alternators are **** to begin with. they upgraded them in 05 with stronger ones but stil not great. sothe alternator will not be spinning as much and therefore not creating as much power. the power draw on it will be the same though, so it will be overworking it and it will fail. an udp is not worth it imo. just do something else

I would say thats a bit extreme of a statement...I've had my Unorthodox Racing UDP on my R/T for almost 30,000 miles and my alternator is still running fine. I know tons of people who have had UDP's on their Neon's for 10k-20k+ and still dont have alternator issues.

Thats not saying it could happen at some time though, because I do agree that a UDP does put extra strain on our weak alternators, but its hardly a "put on a UDP and you'll be changing your alternator every week" kind of risk.

Yeah, you could get an ODP as well...

I just got done replacing my alternator and power steering pump. I was wondering if it was because of the udp. I also have a powerful sound system in my car. I propably went about 25k until I started seeing my lights dim too often (maybe less than 25k). Towards the beginning of that 25k I got an optima battery b/c my other battery couldn't hold my sound system but, the optima eventually got weak.
