that price will be .. the whole job? installed and everything else?.. plus what are the avg time 1/4 mile for the mtx sxt and the atx sxt.. i raced one and he beated me by less than a car.. and i believe i was starting to pick up at about 85mph.. ( i hav a atx[:'(])
That is the cost for parts...hard to say what labor would be but I would imagine at least $500. As for how much time you'll pick up, generally an ATX 2nd Gen runs around 16.7-17.0 in the 1/4 while and an MTX gets 16.3-16.6 or so...and an R/T is around 15.8-16.0.
Completely absolutely stock I ran mine to a 16.3. I'm sure I could have done better before i added some things....but I couldn't wait. With basically i/e my fastest run has been a 16 flat. Over the couple years I have had the neon I have gotten better driving it. I was never bad at it, but I'm a lot better drag racing then I was before. I have no doubt that I could keep pace with an R/T. If I make it to the track this summer I would expect to see about a 15.8-15.9.
When I was typing that i thought to myself, "I know LowSlowNeon will post his awesome times"...lol you are indeed in a very small minority with that time.
Why do you say I'm in the small minority? Not many can pull my times or something? Maybe I can just drive. Actually though...the last time I was at the track was a year ago....sigh. And I was NOT powershifting when I ran the 16 flat. But if all else fails I'll just get two of the big bottles, "and harry, I need it by tonight". LMFAO!

There are very few SXT Neon's that can run a 16 flat (stock, or even modded slightly)...hell, I know of many R/T's that can barely pull a 16 flat...

WEll then I have a freak neon then. That or I know how to drive...one of the two. But I can tell you when I did the 16 flat....it was not because I could drive......I only say that because I was not shifting hard. I'm good at wot shifting now...so thats why I say I would expect high 15s now.

Its probably a little of both...but mostly your probably just a great driver. The first time I ran my R/T at Milan I had a 16.3, 16.1, and 16.0. I went back aboutsix months later with the mods I have now and ran all high 15's and finished with my current best of 15.7 at 89mph...
