Hi, this is my first posting. Have a 03 Neon LE ATX. I bought on Ebay a complete SRT - 4 wheels and tires package, but unfortunately I cannot install them as the tires hit with the OEM strut perches. I am thinking on bidding for a set of used srt-4 shocks and springs on ebay, but want to know first if these can be installed in my car, and if the stock shock upper plates can work for installing the shocks....

I know the tires won't fit on a first gen, so the same may go for the 2nd gen neons as well.

 

If anything you can get lower profile tires because I have no idea on the suspension.

 

IIRC, the stock SRT-4 tires are a 45 tire, so a 40 should work.

 

Stock SRT-4 tire size is 205-50-17...any 45 series tire (and lower) on a 17" rim will work on stock 2nd Gen suspension. As for the SRT-4 struts, they will bolt up 100% the same as your stock Neon struts. I wouldnt suggest buying used, but it really depends on the price. You can get brand new Tokico HP "Blues" struts for around $250...

 

So if a 2nd gen owner wanted to run the stock SRT-4 tires and wheels, they would just need to buy the struts also?

 

Correct, or go buy aftermarket struts like the Tokicos...

 

if you don't do srt springs it will raise your car since the perche sits higher

I purchased a complete set of wheels and tires from an SRT, the tires were runned only 12K miles, so they have a Very good tread life, and the Wheels are in IMMACULATE condition.. they came up toghether with the SRT spare wheel and tire (NEW never used) as well as with the original bag with Jack and bolt wrench.

I thought it was going to be a seamless fit, until I tried to install the wheels and found out.
RIght now I am checking on the shocks pricing, but I dont have money right now to purchase . I am considering serously aboutselling the wheels and tires... is anybody intrested?
