hey i had a question i want to do an engine swap an srt to put in an 05 sxt and i have automatic transmission i have your list for a swap but what about my transmission wise or can i just do the stage 2 hahn

 

i have an automatic sxt 05 and i want a srt engine what year should i use and i have the list of what i need but what can i do transmission keep it as is what will my results be

 

03neonRT told me the swap would go okay, but you won't get the same amount of hp in an auto, but yes it is completely possible to use an auto with an srt-4 engine. Basically it is the same thing for the hahn stage 2...

 

let me know when he has that listing as well i sure can use it and what would be cheaper in the end and lesser work that would be the hahn 2 huh

 

Ok, if you decide to swap in the 2.4 turbo engine you could keep your automatic transmission but yu would want to add some components like a transmission cooler, and a performance rebuild kit IMO. Your not going to be able to have as much power though, because the transmission wont be able to hold it and you'll have more drivetrain loss as a result anyway.

As for what year to grab the motor out of, if you want an SRT-4 motor you can go out of any 03-05 SRT-4...the other option is purchasing the 2.4 out of the PT Cruiser GT (turbo 2.4) or the PT Cruiser N/A 2.4 and building it up for the turbo.
