Good stuff, after you have a few of these tear downs/installs under your belt installing a new cam will seem like a cake walk...good luck with the rest of the install tomorrow!!

Yeah the Haynes does leave out quite a bit of stuff suprisingly...but you'll get the hang of it...anything your still sketchy on or you think you got your bases covered?

welp, today I just about got everything covered. The old header is just off, and the head is off. The camshaft is sill a WIP but the header is pretty much installed. Soon it is going to be installing all the old parts[:'(]

Thanks Mikey. The hard work is pretty much almost over with. Now that I know how everything goes it is a simple case of torque specs

Ok... so I am editing this post because I figured i would let you see some pictures I took before I took the head off. My camera is in my sisters possession so when I get it back I will snap some more photo's

Hope you remembered to buy new head bolts since your taking the cylinder head off (which you dont need to do for a cam install)...

I decided too... i don't know why. Better access to the header (plus i can install the cam with more room) . I have bought everything I need.[8D]

rope wrench or take one of the little timing coverbolts behind the cam gear out then stick some thing in there so it will hold the cam gear be carefull not too break the cover.
