So i just buy new mounts n put em in there with the race inserts? or i put them with my old mounts??
You can do either or! You take off the center bolt, make a little alteration to the stock motor mounts so the insert will fit, put in the insert, re tighten the bolt back on.... Viola.

C'est fini

Haha, it wouldnt have helped you much. You still needed the new mounts but you could have done it with the new ones.

They are relatively cheap so buying them shouldn't be a problem

i made my own, i poored urithan in the mounts, made them very strong, and really stiff, but like stated above, whata difference....it is a simple design.....and for anyone who wants to get power to the wheels, the way to go

The Trans mount insert that Vitor sells makes the set so much more complete. I have the race MM inserts and added the transmount one. It takes some of the shake and looseness out that I did not like. The Trans becomes a week link and becomes over-stressed and it shows. Get the transmount one and it will actually vibrate less than without. It is only available in what I think is Street Durometer as it was well softer than my Race Inserts but any bit will help. A definite MUST HAVE. Like boogers.

i had a set of the street mounts, but i mistakenly left them in my car when i had my trans. work done again... the guy "forgot" to change the axle seals, which was the original problem..... so i went through another trans. but that was all awhile ago, well anways i left em in there and he took them, along with a pair of pliers i had in the trunk... well he wanted $200 for the work but i pretty much blew that off.... used my other set of keys and picked my car up, well a set of keys, $30 worth of motor mounts and a good pair of pliers vs. $200, you pick... either way he hasn't come to take the car, i doubt he'd wanna drive the 200 miles round trip to take the car back so yea. he'd spend more money on gas to get it than its worth. lol but anyways... i plan on buying another set of them soon. one question though, is the bottom mount a real pain to get to or not? b/c from the looks of it it looks like a real pain in the @$$.....

i think the bottom was easyer then the top! Just take the spash sheilds out and it is right thier. I didnt even take my tire off. Just turned my wheel all the way to the right. Im not quite sure on how to take the sheilds off as mine have been gone for awhile, but its not hard at all, literally took me 15min to do both!!

I feel pretty dumb asking this question. I am putting on after-market parts and all of that stuff. What do motor mounts do exactly? Where can some good ones...you guys seem to love the prothane race models...but where can i get them? Last question is: You guys keep saying its incredibly easy. How easy is easy? What is required?

Sorry for all the question marks haha

thanks

You can pick them up at the usual neon spots (www.howellautomotive.com or www.modernperformance.com ). What they do is limit engine rattle. This means more power simply because you lose less due to vibration (where it just moves the engine instead of the car...). It eliminates wheel hope as well.

Easy is very easy... Get a socket wrench, the right socket, some torque... make a slight alteration to the stock motor mounts so they fit... and put them in. EASY!!! 45 minutes TOPS if you know your way around the bottom engine mount. There are a ton of those plastic tabs and 3 screws that holds up that splash guard

sweet. Thanks man.

One more question. I was reading some stuff when I installed my CAI. This guy mentioned that you might ruin 1 or 2 of the plastic tabs when getting them out. I ruined them all haha. I couldn't find anyway to get them out and it took like 5 minutes for each one. Whats the best way to get those out?

There are 2 ways.... one is the proper way... one is a ghetto sorta way.

The proper way is there is a special tool to take those bloody things out without damaging them. You can look around at places like carquest and buy one...

The other is to go to your kitchen, grab a fork, and pry them out. They won't come out too damaged if you are careful and you can re-use them
