Default wheel studs

I snapped off one wheel stud when rotating my tires. Will the hub need to come off to change out the wheel stud? Or can i beat it out? Its on the front wheel btw...

Just pound them out and press them in. Get the calipers and rotors out of the way first then should be no problem.

So i will not have to have them pressed out? I can just beat it out than put the new on in and draw it in with a lug nut.

no the hub doesnt need to be taken off, but spin the hub until the stud is where there is a place to get it out, you will see if you look back there. there is a portion of the back of it cut away to replace the studs. bang out the old one and bang in the new one, note how the old one came out though, because the back of it is not completely circular. there is a flat side, which i believe should be facing the inside of the wheel hub

You are supposed to press them out but find me a tech that does. THe best way to press them in is actually a tool kit that at least was available at some sears which is a wheel stud install tool. Much better than just a lugnut to pull it in.

mikey, the studs only go in a certain way? I tried replacing mine yesterday and what I THOUGHT was completely in wasn't...still sticks out a couple milimeters. should i take it out and try again?

If your talking about a front wheel stud, you should be able to mount the wheel and use a lug nut to pull the stud into the hub the rest of the way.
