Default 2004 engine problems

So my 04 SE is throwing the codes 325 and 340. One of those says knock sensor, the other cam sensor. The problem is, and it isn't consistent, in first through 3rd (standard) at the upper end of the power band, it all but dies. Throw it to the next gear, and it's fine until the top of the power band, then it does it again. Does not do it in 4th or 5th. Occasionally, in 5th crusing it will do it and I'll have to turn it off and back on one or more times to get it to run again. At this point (before turning it off) it runs like it's bouncing off the rev limiter at 1k rpm.

Any ideas? Are those sensors easy to replace? Am I better off taking it to a shop and spending $400+ to have them do it?

Negative. Just started doing it occasionally and giving me the check engine light. Now it does it almost every time I go out, and sometimes it takes three cranks to get it to start. My initial thought was a bad fuel filter, as was my dad's, and one of the codes #3 cause was low fuel pressure (which I would think you'd get from a plugged filter).

if i were you i would take the fuel pump and filter out... have the fuel filter checked by autozone or pepboys or w/e you have around you, replace the fuel filter anyways...... and go from there.... if the pump is bad then that could be your problem... if the pump is fine then you should replace the sensors...
