suspension rattling!!!!???
hey guys as i posted before, i got some lowering springs installed, i had cheap *** coilovers (ebay) before HORRIBLE RIDE NEVER BUY THESE. anyway the rear suspension seems to be rattling everytime i go over uneven road, its really getting on my nerves and want to fix ASAP, anyway the guy that installed em for me said that i need new bushings, but when i called my local dodge dealer, they weren't very customer savy and told me that there are a lot of busings in the rear suspension, thats my problem i don't know exactly what it is and what they are called. it sounds as if something is hitting evertimes i go over pot holes or anything uneven. "neon god" your help and everyone else's would be greatly appreciated!
well since you called me by name lol do you have stock struts on there? im assuming you do so you might have blown the struts. how much of a drop is it? the bushings you wanna worry about are the actual ones on the strut. the dodge dealers are idiots, and if you changed the springs, then the problem must be there and not the rest of the rear suspension. i would check the bushing on the top of the strut and thhen also the rubber piece that goes between the spring and the perch of the strut. put some soapy water on each thing one at a time and drive in between to see where the problem is coming from. hopefully you have everything installed correctly. so it shouldnt be anything serious. also, if your struts arent blown, they will go, so i would suggest either swaping back your stock springs until you ca get better struts or a better overall system. your problem could be just ****ty springs though hope that helps
i'm pretty sure the springs are ok. i am assuming that they are the rubber pieces that go between the spring and perch. everything is installed correctly and my struts are not blown lol, that mechanic that installed my springs said it was the rubber bushing, but i didn't get a chance to ask exactly which ones. where can i get em anyway i have been lookin everywhere.
honestly no idea. i had to reuse mine on my tokico suspension, and i get a little squeaking sometimes, but i dont feel like finding new ones, then taking my struts apart to replace them. try putting the soapy water on them to make sure its the problem though before you replace them and thats not even the problem
what exactly do u mean by the whole soap and water thing? also i asked about a wheel alignment and they said that my car is too low is there any way around that?
camber kits are what you need for the alignment and for the soapy water thing just take soapy water, put it on one of the rubber things and see if the problem goes away. it will lubrucate it so it wont make any sound
well the prob is that i dont think i have those rubber bushings at all, they said that when you install coilovers for the rear, they are removed. but i dont think it will fix it as it sounds as if the spring or somthing is hitting the inside of the body
