I have four 12" dual speakers in the lighted boxes with a 1500 watt R.F. amp and it sounds bad *** and yes it is a lot of bass but I also have a 400 watt amp going to four 4-way pioneer 6 x 9's and it is loud as hell... people tell me it sounds good every where i go..

yeah i would say go with alpine, your lookin for an $MS wattage aroun 50-60, most CD players out dont push more than that per channel anyway. If your gonna go with any speaker your gonna want to get a 3 or 4 way setup. The more tweeters it has the clearer its gonna sound. As for Dual subs....yes they're crap. If you want cheap speakers that sound decent, well better than decent anyways, id say go with audiobahn. They are relatively inexpensive, around $150 for a pretty good 12". check out ebay, they have good deals there, just make sure your buying a NEW product.
