Default Painting/Primering/Removing side bar off car

I was thinking of sanding down and primering my neon this weekend. What would be some good ways on doing so? Then for that side mold piece on the neon, how can you remove that and would it be a good idea to do so?

By chance would anyone know how to make the carpet in the car right above the rear speakers be screwed to the metal? I have subs for my car and that carpet hits my rear window right and the base of it. It sucks so much when the bass hits. [:@]

umm i wouldnt suggest painting your car unless you are exactly sure what you are doing, but the side moldings can come off with a heat gun and some fishing line

I wouldn't be paint the car myself. I'm trying to get the work done before the paint job so it won't be as much work on him and it gets the car back to me faster. Just wanted to know what kind of primer would best work.

I'm going to be having my car painted from red salsa pearl to black metallic with desings on it. I was taking a long look at that side piece and notice that it gets really dirty on the lower half and it is pretty clean on the upper. Don't want that there when I get it repainted. I'm having the whole thing debadged as well.

Oh, by chance do you know where you could get an aftermarket metallic gas cover cap like you see on the hyundai tiburons for a dodge neon.

No, I was about to hand it over to a friend to get painted back in September of 07'. He went out of town to do some work he had going at the time. A day before he got back into town was the time I had been rear ended by our city bus company. So since then I haven't had time or money to put into getting painted. I will update tomorrow what has been done to it since then.

Right now I am working on trying to get things done with my shoulder, becuase of the accident it tore the under part of my shoulder and need to have surgery to get it repaired. Getting my car re-painted isn't to much on the top of my priority list at the time being. [X(]

Still working everything out. Won't be for another 6 months or so till I get any kind of insurance money from anyone. Have to have a complete recovery before that can happen. I'm hoping to have the surgery sometime this upcoming month so that I can get it out the way. Crappy part is that I am going to have to take a few weeks off work.

Ouch, that sucks...So that surgery is coming out of your wallet eh?

Is your neon still drivable? Did the collision affect its performance? Or was it just the exterior that was damaged....can you post ome pics?

I had taken only a few picture when it occured. If my girlfriend still has them on the phone I will post them. It broke up the fiber glass rear bumper I had and bent the reinforced bar behind it. My car can't go above 70mph with out pulling to the sides really badly. My motor mounts got shot right after that.

It is driveable, but needs a lot of work done to it to get it back to normal so that it drives normally again. I am doing what I can to it when I might have some spare money around.

The surgery money will be coming out of my pocket until the settlement, then I get reinbursed for it all. That was I can have it and get healed up sooner and protects me more incase I need another surgery (if things go wrong). Attorney says I should get a pretty good settlement after all this is done. Then I can fix my car.
