I have a NAPA filter on right now, I will cut it up in about 2K and post my finding with pics...

Keep this thread alive, could be quite interesting... I'm interested in what the Mopar filter will look like, as that is what I usually run on the truck.

Maybe after it was cut apart.

You must have a Wix Filter on your truck

i cut up the car quest one that was on my 81 and it didn't look as bad as that fram one.

The CarQuest and Wix look damn good compared to the Fram. But I wonder if some pleat movement is "normal" for an oil filter or not?

Just by looking at pictures I would have to believe the Wix and CarQuest are much more capable of doing a good job filtering oil in their condition then that Fram.

i think some pleat movement would be normal but the more pleats the less movement you will likely see.

i think i would trust the leaving the car quest filter on there a bit longer than i did.
