i parked my truck on the street and then parked it back in the driveway at the end of the day today. i am a bit surprised my neighbors didn't come out to see what the noise was. did some sandblasting but got way more to do tomorrow.

Used my Ram today to pick up a few drills and saws and other various cutting and bending metal objects for my tiregate that im building this weekend. Also did some last minute measuring and designing to ensure its safe. If it does fall apart on the road I have some fail safe measures that will help both me and the car behind me. Now im waiting for my paycheck tomorrow so I can go pickup the tubing. This shall be intresting..

Drove it home from the town south of us, about 20 mi. Sure was fun

I'm loving the manual transmission.

I can't wait to do the axle swaps, and pass a safety inspection, then I can uprate it legally and be able to tow big loads with it. And it gets a gooseneck hitch too before it gets uprated.

drove it to a work meeting.

it's a bit cooler out today so exhaust hazing at idle is more visible. so driving through yuppy-ville I come up to a red light and there is a bus stop booth on the sidewalk on the right near the signal...well my truck was maybe 50 feet from the bus stop and this lady gets up off the bench and walks like 100ft or better away running from the idle haze

buncha snooty tight *** greenies. I was tempted to blip the throttle and give her a cloud to complain about, but I didn't want to get the other lady that was still sitting on the bench in the bus stop.

I intentionally "max idle rev" when I pull up next to a Prius, just so they know I cancelled out their wasting money on purchasing one.

Then again it's fair to say that im just trolling them because my truck doesn't put out emissions, probably less than a prius if any at all.

Replaced the power window switch on the driver's side so I don't have to pull the unit out every time. Fixed the coolant leak finally.

I saw dman12323's post on making a tiregate and liked the idea, might figure something out tomorrow.

Get a turn over ball.
That way you still have complete, full use of the bed.

Drove the 76. God I love the torque that truck has.

I picked up the phone and ordered 2 CV axles, 2 upper control arms and 2 lower ball joints for my truck. All from Rock Auto. Moog uppers/ball joints and for you's guys who don't have to worry about CVs (I do admit I miss my old '98s SFA), I decided to try Cardone HD CVs with thermoplastic boots.

I've been driving for better than 5000 miles with almost no rubber left on a single ball joint (amazingly they still function fine), but I had an inner CV boot shred this past weekend and started throwing grease everywhere. Just a matter of time till it either gets crud in it or runs dry of grease and fails. So I might as well take care of all at once.

Me thinks my fishing treks around the intercoastal and splashing around salt water is prematurely doing my rubber boots in. I lost the transfer case linkage rod last year because the bushings disintegrated away. I'm hoping the thermoplastic boots on the CVs do better than rubber did...
