Whilst it will get wet, the water will drain to the bottom and drip into the trough under the cowl (where rail presently goes).
Not being porous, I don’t think it will hold much water for long... it should dry quickly.
I’ll be sure to update you on any issues.
I think I'll order them but with winter and my garage not finished no place to work I need to figure out where my vacuum leak is, pull the engine replace the rings and valve seals. Also figure out where the gas and weird smell is coming from.

I’m adding a separate firewall hole with grommet for the vacuum line, and replacing all the hardline with a heavy wall silicone tube.

I'm trying to find tubing that comes in the different colors. I do believe it's my engine though not a line

Today I cleaned all the heater box parts.
Then applied the new seal material I got (1/2”x1/4” closed cell foam)... I was pleasantly surprised how good the adhesive was.

Then put it all back together.

Just like a new one.

I wish I had looked at this thread sooner. You could use a block of wood or metal covered with wax paper to make a backing for the gaps you were trying to bridge. The paper might still stick, but comes off with a scuff pad. At least the block isn't bonded to it. Very nice work. The foam is awesome.

This morning I put new hood seals (LMC) around the cowl.
As you can see, the center one doesn’t have the flap that hides the wiring loom, but I guess that’s no biggie.
The driver side one was fine, but the passenger side was 3/4” long... I had to separate the pieces, cut it to the correct length, then cut back the step in the top edge... put them back together with some double sided tape, before sticking them in place.
