You think that would apply to my 2001 seeing as it was for 97-00? I was throwing a PO442 and had a smoke test done and told me it was the LDP. I'll know when my CEL comes back on in a couple days.

Anybody catch what that crazy M.F. on Xtreme 4x4 did with a vacuum gauge on the fuel saving project Dodge Ram? I missed it but someone at work said they installed a vacuum gauge to save fuel? Any ideas?

The vacuum gauge is simply an informational tool. You want high manifold vacuum for best economy.... so, having a gauge TELLING you when you are getting to heavy on the go pedal just clues ya in to lighten up.

The same thing was available as on option on some domestic cars back in the late 70's, early 80's.

Ahaa. I thought it was some trick that going to turn in to some expensive overhaul. I think I can manage to keep the long skinny off the floor for a while. Well... Most of the time at least. Still wouldn't mind dumpin that 1,000 bucks on a Dana 60 swap, lower gears and some manual hub lockouts. I gots hoop dreams coach!

Damn. Back to the drawing board. If that CEL comes back, I'll check the vacuum lines.

I filled mine up today from almost bone dry with supreme..... took EXACTLY 100 bucks, gift cards=used up!

On an unrelated note, is it ironic that my P0420 code came back last night, and then immediately after the CEL lit up, the song '420' from the youtube music vid thread came on???! AAAND here's the kicker, I was on my way back from pickin up some uh, y'know....!!

I have a pretty close relationship with my truck, she knew exactly what was goin on!!! hahaha
