I love my truck. Its my first truck and I'm its 3rd owner. It needs a tune up in transmission (slips from 1st to 2nd when making a U-turn), ball joints and an alignment. Since the a/c is pretty much blowing whatever air is outside and it's in the high 90's where I am, it has priority. It also need a new heating core, but I been putting that off. I prefer to be cold than sweating in misery.

This morning, I went to Auto Zone for a replacement gasket that sits in between the a/c line and compressor. I also picked up some brake cleaner to remove the dye. Then I went over to Big Lots to purchase 134-A freon for $5 a (12 oz.) can. Yes, Big Lots now carries this freon and it is cheapest out there (as far as I know). Grab some if you need it.

I rolled up my windows because it's going to rain.

The work starts this weekend. Oil change, a/c recharge.

So, me and my big, honkin' cast took baby out for a drive today. Took a little getting used to working the accelerator with the cast, but eventually I got the hang of it without hitting anything. So much so that I ended up doing a favor for my boat shop buddy and hauled an engine block over to the rebuilder for him. It was a good day.

I removed the CB radio, field stripped it, cleaned all the coffee drips out of evey nook, cranny and ****. Sanded and painted the top a fresh coat of black. Added two brackets to the bottom to bolt on the floor mount ears at a better angle.
Decided to replace the 33 year old mic with a new one, and redid the power cord. Will reinstall everything Friday.

Changed the transmission fluid and filter. I also added some Lucas stop slip. What a difference a little maintainance makes! It's shifting smoother and it's even just a little more generous on the mpg's!

Finished up what I started, redid the drums in the back.... Jeez, I will be glad when I don't have drum brakes to play with.

All new wagner pads, and she stops real good now.
