Howabout this, I'm not paying car insurance right now When I turn 18 and get my DL, It'll be an extra $40/mo. Yikes! If I stay accident free until I am 21 it'll go down then...

$40 a month for inexperienced driver rate (which most all insurance companies classify new drivers as) is an excellent price. When my son got his license, insurance went up $150 a month for liability only. But, he had his own car. I think it was cheaper when he was added as a secondary driver to mine and my wifes cars. It's when he got his own car the rates skyrocketed. He managed to make it 3 years without a ticket or accident and his rates have come back down to @$50 a month for full coverage. Going through the same thing now with my daughter. She only has liability and her rate is $600 every 6 months. It was higher but she made it through 1 year so far of her 3 year inexperienced driver surcharge. It drops a little every year until she makes it 3 years. The, liability only on her car is @$20 a month.

I'd be primary driver of the Dodge at $40/mo. so no it is not bad at all.

I'm supposed to be paying $220 a month for just the insurance on my truck. Yeeah that's not even including the the price job of having me on the family insurance, which went down when we added the 76 and put me on that truck rather than the Ram.
