Anyone use pepboys? There is not one near me, but wondering if it is worth a trip (there is one in Charlotte).

 

I've never thought of Pep Boys as an autoparts store, they're a service center. A fraud prone one at that.

 

Pep boys sucks.. Wouldnt go there for anything but buying tires.. Even then I buy them and take them with to do myself... I went to autozone one time and wont go again.. Atleast not to the one near me.. I went in asking for a wheel stud and they said " sure we got that." i gave them the vehicle information and they came back with a nut and bolt and said here ya go... I said to them that was not what I was looking for.. He asked the manager to take a look and he insisted the nut and bolt was what I needed.... Never laughed so hard before... Federated auto is now my main place to go.. They do alot of the business deliveries for shops and not alot of people know they are open to the public to come in and buy stuff... Great people and they always have what I need. If they dont have it the can get it faster than any other parts store I have delt with.

 

I used pepboys for my alignment on my truck and I will use them when I go get tires... I have an Autozone that I won't go near as well. I mostly try to use Advance, there is no O'Riely's near me to use... But I heard they are great.

I would use RockAuto more but their shipping charges are outta this world expensive. They wanted to charge me like $70 to ship 2 rear drums and shoes!!! WTF!?!?

Dlyter09, Does federated have an online site? Do they have any other locations around us?

Good info. Won't waste my time. The only thing that attracted my attention wa their buy 3 get on free tire sales. But, if you shop around, others (Firestone in particular) have those as well. I'll stick with rock auto if I can wait for a part. Advance in an emergency.

I see that everyone likes to use RA... Am I the only one that thinks their shipping is crazy? Or maybe I am the only one getting charged insane rates...:/

 

The only thing I use pep boys for is tires.. Find the tires you want online for the cheapest price you can and pep boys will price match and then take some off.. Only good thing about them...

 

No it happens.. Alot of guys have said that.. Something about they ship each thing from a different place or something... I have used it once and I used the discount code from here and that paid for shipping for me
