The Official 2nd Gen RAM Forum OT thread
I got to take the jeep for a spin for the first time since September! Got all the way around the neighborhood and was very pleased with how it was running, so I decided to go up the road and back(still open header so I didn't want to go far). Pulled on to the road and gave it no more than 1/2 throttle. this was the result.

I am still laughing about it. I built this thing for torque but damn. My old 4.2 couldn't hurt my drivetrain if it tried! I know 3.07's and 33's don't do any favors for the pinion yoke but it is still funny.
Also, I noticed when I started it up that it doesn't want to stay running with the choke set, even when cold, so this carb must really be choking this engine down.

Yea I want to build axles for it but not right now. I was hoping to drive it as is for a while before tearing it apart again haha. I am thinking about doing a flange yoke or at least U-bolts in another yoke, but I don't know if then I will just trash the ring & pinion. Or my custom CV driveline.
Stock? It's a Dana 35 rear and Dana 30 front. That's stock for yj/tj/early xj, although tj's and late xj's use a low pinion D30 front end while the older stuff (like mine) has a high pinion axle. I would like to build a ford high pinion 44 front and 9" rear out of a 70's f150, but I will probably end up just getting an 8.8 out of an exploder like most jeep guys upgrade to. The high pinion D30 front ends are pretty strong to start with.
