Couldn't have said it better man. I am a father and could not imagine what the parents are going through, especially at this time of year.

What I heard this morning was that they are not sure if the guns were his moms or not. Why the hell are the guns and ammo not locked in a safe and away from anyone who has mental issues of any kind???

Sadly most people will start screaming about how all guns should be banned, but once again guns in the wrong hands, can be deadly.

"Holiday stress" maybe?

Nereaga brings up a great point, supposedly this kid has some mental health issues and the guns were registered in his mothers name. Knowing this yeah these weapons should have been LOCKED UP!

It's all speculation and conjecture at this point but it's enough to make a grown man cry.

From what I have been reading, he was a 'goth', and a nerd.... they are only suspecting 'personality disorders' NOW, after he has gone haywire. I am almighty curious what would push someone over the edge to go and kill elementary school children. Not to mention his mother...... Unfortunately, we will never know, as it seems his last victim was himself.

I don't think there was any chance of predicting this... he went into the school with a couple handguns.... left the rifle in the car. You just know the gun control folks are going to be screaming about this one. Trouble is, this guy had NONE of the indicators of a troubled person. No history of mental illness, and no criminal history. If he wanted, he could have walked in to any sporting goods store, and bought whatever he wanted... No law would have prevented this.

Metal detectors at all schools now, and locked doors at all times. Also wouldn't hurt having a security guard at the only enterance of all schools.

This would have controlled the killings at least. Maybe just the guard and not the damn kids...

Only if the guards had some real training...... most of the rent-a-cops I have seen would start runnin' if they saw someone with a gun....

Oh absolutely! Need to be trained and ready to handle these types of situations. It's a problem now that ppl are going to schools to kill kids. Needs to stop regardless on how much it costs. A child's life is priceless and they need to have a fair shot a life. Not to be ruined by some selfish wacked out 20yr old. Use some tax dollars and do something good for our society.
