Anybody remember the numerous threats from Al Qaeda that 9-11 was only the start and there was much more to follow? Remember how there was not one more Al Qaeda attack that made it into the USA? I do.

Anyone else remember the the Israelis, Canadianns, Britsh, and the Russians told us early in 2001 that such as attack was "emminent" with commerical planes? And our own intelligence (such that it was) was saying the same thing in June and through August, only to fall on a deaf administration? I do. And I was an adult, engaged in world affairs and news, sitting in my office in New Mexico.

And it's all just part of the plan. If they prevent the attack there is no need to invade Afghanistan or Iraq (not there was a valid reason to go to Iraq anyway).

Bill Clinton worked on the 9/11 Commission, and was close to killing Bin Laden, but NO ONE (CIA & FBI) wanted to certify that Bin Laden was indeed the man, and the U.S. Military was AGAINST sending in Special Forces to kill him.....

I do believe we (U.S.) were dealing with basing rights in Turkey at the time also.
