Hay season is in full swing.
JD2640 tractors tranny is going bad. And both clutches... Changed the tranny fluid and filter today, it was pure black and gray. Eeeks...
Been adding 2cycle oil to the diesel fuel, noticed a significant drop in fuel usage. However the engine is surging worse (not due to the 2cycle oil though)
And, might be joining the ranks of the oilburners soon gonna be looking at a 1986 Ford F350 7.3L diesel truck. If we get it i'll drop a turbo and intercooler on it and turn the IP up. First thing when we get it will be to turn the pump up slightly and re time it more aggressively.

I went to the cruise over at the Whataburger by my house. Some nice rides out there. Including a 70 Cuda with a worked over 426 and custom paint.

Tranny went on the Ford yesterday (front pump or T/C most likely) towed it home from the pasture with the tractor.

Well the fact is that the E4OD is the best auto out there - but they had there own problems too. it is probably the front seal or pump, Ford evidently had a thinner seal on the early E4ODs and they blew easy after getting hot several times.
