Opinions on 4:10 and 4.56 gears with 35 inch tires

If you're getting 12mpg with 3.55s and 35s I'd be thanking all the saints. That's what I get on a good day around town. Even when I had 265s. You'll get better pick-up though for sure. I wonder if your gauges are updated for the tires.

i dont think they are. i believe my speedometer is off around 5 mph. and im kinda guessing on the mpg. my friend is pretty good at math and figured if i multiplied my miles on the trip by like 1.2 it would make up for the speedo being off. so it could be less could be more idk lol

I got 35's with 4.10's, and running a V10, and I consistently get 10.5 to 11.5 in all around driving. Thats pretty much bone stock. I just drive about 65-68 on the highway. My speedo is off 8 mph as measured by my GPS.

I have the same setup and was getting about 8 mpg around town with 4.56. Thats corrected for the tire size. With my fresh 408 im getting about the same.

I had 4.10's and now have 4.56 with my 35's, and I can tell you that 4.56 is so much better. The truck accelerates way easier, tows better, has more power all around, and can hold highway speeds way easier (less downshifting on hills). My mpg went up about 1-2 mpg when I went from 4.10 to 4.56, I think because the engine doesn't have to work nearly as hard. I don't drive interstate speeds (75-80 mph) much, i'm usually on highways that are in the 55-65 range, and it does just fine at those speeds. I get between 10-12 mpg depending on how i'm driving. I don't care about mileage with my truck, so this is acceptable mileage to me.

This is exactly what I found when I went from 4.10 to 4.56 in my jeep and what I was trying to explain....
of course some people gas it more when it has more torque just because its more fun and some engines would have more wear than others I seem to get around 12 mpg with my 360/4.56/35" setup myself although thats an educated guess.
