^what year is the 3rd gen?
02 trucks also had the problem (yeah, just ask my dad), I think they fixed it finally mid-year 03.
I haven't really seen any 03 up Rams with cracked dashes.

man last week i would have been jumping up an shouting "MINE IS STILL GOOD TO GO"

but thats not the case anymore! after 10 years i got a damn crack in the dash. i noticed it friday while driving to my intern but what i saw was a little crack, nothing ugly. it was in the lower right corner of the dash. then i got out at work, opened the passenger door and BOOM a ****ing crack splitting the dash into two. WTF? 10 years (9 of those in hot Colorado heat) 1 year in hot humid GA...it really pisses me off.

man once one thing gets fixed on this dodge, or is in the middle of getting fixed, something that is made so cheaply gets broken...

It has allot to do with direct sunlight, humidity, and heat....guess what got plenty of that down here, so dashes go bye-bye

but hey the bright side to this is when i do my ac/heater core this fall i won't have to worry about being so gentle when removing the dash. hell, i hope it explodes now when i remove it...POS parts...

From what I've heard, the Generation 2.5 Ram's (2000/01) didn't have issues with this. Any validity to this statement?

My '97 didn't have cracks until I posted on a similar thread that My dash was fine. No joke, the next day I got a HUGE crack on the drivers side of the dash. It hasn't stopped cracking since then.
