Hey guys just bought my first Cummins! YAY ![Smile](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
2005 Dodge Ram 2500 HD 4X2 CTD High Output Auto 3.73 White Reg Cab LB
I am very excited to get it. Gonna have to do 950 mile trip one way to pick it up in Austin, Texas. I'm in GA. Got it off ebay as I did for my other two Ram pickups. And got a great deal on it, 10K under kbb retail value. Will be driving out there on Tuesday with my friend who is a diesel mech and taking it home Wednesday.
Umm... So I'm thinking ol Black Betty may not be around to much longer as I have no need to two pickups. I have truely fallen in-love with her and will hate to part ways but I suppose it is for the better.
She will make another man very happy I'm sure. Time to move on the new projects as I have finished completing her.
Well I personally would love to see her go to another member on here, so if anyone is interested drop me a PM or phone # and we can talk about it. SHE NEEDS A GOOD HOME FELLAS!
Anywho... here is the new truck for those who wanna see... Lemme know what ya'll think...lol guess I will be over on the 3rd gen and CTD forum alot more in the future. Don't know very much about these I6 diesels other than I know they are the best you can get and outperform the Stroke and Duramax

Well I do have those extra set of black series 51 wheels that I was planning on putting on the CTD. I 99% sure they are the same bolt pattern as the 2nd gens. Just for shetz and giggles, I may just do the wheels exchange and put a new rear bumper and see if I can sell it for $9900 local. If not, I'm still happy with it, I think it will make a great DD/ drag truck.

^^^^ '05 5.9 High Output CTD 325 HP 610 FT LB...they didn't put the 6.7 in until mid '07 BTW
So, after an agonizing 24hr bus ride to Austin TX, I pickedd up the truck this morning. Hopped right in a drove it for 10 or 15 before I gave payment. Drive nice and everything but I knew it wasn't perfect. Hell, romping on it the parking lot set off two car alarms...found out the muffler is gutted. So I bring it back and rev on it, and the RPM's would take a while to drop down to idle...something was def up with that. Than popped the hood and it didn't have a F#$%ing oil cover on, there was plastic jammed in the hole...kinda scary. But overall I was happy with it.
Until after I paid for and had the thurough inspection done at the massive Dodge dealership down the road. LOTS OF PROBS!!
-Leaking oil, needs valve cover gasket.
-Upper/Lower balljoints are shot
-Sway bar link is shot
-Cracked front rotors
-Front and rear pads need to be replaced.
-Radiator is full of dirt and debris, causing her to run hot at 205
So I told the guy to fix the valve cover gasket prob and put in new sway bar links.
Just so its good enough for me to drive a 1000 miles home and deal with the rest of the problems myself. (I am tool-less out here, had no choice on dealership rip) enough thou they do high quality work. Gonna cost me like $650-700 out the door with the $100 inspection, labor, tax, and shop supplies.
Well I guess you get what you pay for. I was only $5550 and has 173K so i guess i did expect it to need some work...........
