I hate the sound quality from their door speakers and their head units blow but I have 2 12" 1100w (peak, don't know the RMS) subs that I think sound awesome when teamed up with my 820w (peak again, don't know the RMS) Power Acoustik Gothic series amp.

Nothing fancy just a cheapy walmart, bestbuy sub.
Best Buy sells both the low end and the high end stuff. Sometimes the sales men don't know what they are talking about, but if you know what to look for, the products are there.

That's why I hate going to Best Buy. I hate the douchbag in the blue polo following me around just so he can lie to me about things.

Well, it's a toss. If you had someone like me in there telling you what to get then I suspect you wouldn't have a problem. It's the kid who thinks he knows what he's talking about that gets you in hot water really quick. Part of the reason why, at least, my store doesn't allow anyone except certed employees install audio. I think that there is a few who don't but they know their stuff and have been doing it for years.

As for the Sony's, they are China junk. Plastic everything and that's not good in a speaker. There is a reason why they talk about max watts and not RMS.

I implore you that if you go into best buy after anything they sell, that you do the research before hand. They are their to sell you something and that's what they will do.

Im glad the people at best buy down here know what they're talking about, cause thats were I went for my radio and they are part of the reason Im still running my stock speakers, and the one of the best things is to get compliments on the sound quality of your music and then respond back that their stock speakers, cant wait till I want to afford my kappa's

I'm a PC repair dude and I go in there every once in awhile to look at there "open box" items. Everytime I go into that section some dude asks me for help. I blow him off. I did manage to get them back for bad advice though.

A BB clerk was talking with this old couple that wanted to buy a cheap and simple pc so they could serf the web and email there family back and forth. The BB clerk was trying to sell them a $2k Sony VAIO for nothing more than it does what you need and worth it. After he left I talked to them and told them about Dell. When the clerk came back they say they didn't want the VAIO, they were getting a Dell. He was crushed no commission for him.

Some people might get mad at me for messin with his money, but lying to people to make money pisses me off. Sadly it happens all the time at BB with customers that aren't knowledgeable.

I wont get mad because I know that you didn't take away from his pay. BB employees do not operate on commission. They can make their department look better and get bonuses, but they don't get commission on what they sell...

Mainly because people buy the cheap ones that usually end up causing more harm than good. If you think you need one, they are great since you wont be crawling all over the place to set settings.

Multi channel equalizers will get you a lot further though.

It will "work" but in order to get even an average sound out of them, you'll need an amp. This is assuming that they will handle a range of RMS such as 2-45 or something like that. You CAN run Infinity Kappas off your head unit, but they wont sound that great.

At lower volumes, they will sound great, but once you get into a higher range, they'll distort from the lack of power and possible just send the deck into a safe mode. Remember, it is possible to seize a speaker by under powering one.
