its a 1998. and i was read the hyperchip was better for gas economy. i have plenty of power when i need it but could use more, but need to gain gas mileage. i would rather get the superchip if its good with gas. the other thing is about the e3 plugs i believe they are junk

I have a 2001 5.2 liter with a fiber glass bed cover. I was getting about 14 to 15 mpgs at 60 mph. I got the hypertech eco one and that put it up about 2 mpgs. Now at 55mph im getting about 20 mpgs. As far as power goes, I didnt notice hardly any difference. I dont know how the other chips do, but this one did help some.

YES THEY ARE! Had 3 cylinder misfires after using these. SO I know how you feel and others on DF have had probs with these specific plugs as well.

As far as a tuner goes the best is the SCT Tuner by Hemifever as the others said. I have the older version of Hypertech, the Power Programmer III and I tell I wish I knew about the SCT before I bought the Hypertech. They are a much better product than others tuners on the market.

Default Can I get some info. on Jet Chip Power Programer stage1?

Hey guys I got a 2002 Ram 1500 with a 4.7L it has a full K&N cold air intake, Fowmaster super 40 Delta Series exhaust, and synthetic oil change. Now I'm looking to install a Jet Power Programer stage 1 chip (it's a piggy back unit and part # 90002). Can anyone tell if they had any kind of problems after instillation? Also, if you have scene or felt some kind of difference?

if you want more MPGS without gaining as much power... id say the economy hypertech is your best bet.... i used to have the hypertech that wasnt the economy version and i had like 3+ extra mpgs so id say the economy version would be a little better... if you want the power.. SCT hands down
