Default Goodbye 2nd Gen

Well guys, after a lot of thinking and what not, I decided to buy a new 4th gen yesterday and sold my old truck. Don't get me wrong, I loved my 2nd gen to death but problems started coming back, getting worse, and my tranny went. Unable to afford fixing it, I decided it was time to go with a new truck which is something I've wanted to do for a long time. So I went to the dealership yesterday and bought me a 2010 Ram 1500 Sport loaded with all sorts of things. I've enjoyed the last 3 years I've spent with ya'll and will miss all the 2nd gen stuff deeply but I'll still be around and probably drop by in here whenever I'm bored just to see how things are going. I'd like to thank ya'll also for all the help and knowledge you have shared with us, this forum wouldn't be as great as it is without the people we have here.

And now, pictures

Oh also, since I never got around to installing them due to other problems that required time and money, I still have a set of 1.7 harland sharp roller rockers part # S70037 and a Fel-pro engine gasket kit with 2 mopar valve cover gaskets http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FEL-CS9898-2/ and http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DCC-5249660/. I'll let the roller rockers go for $250 and all the gaskets together go for $50. PM if you're interested.

So now I'll see your old truck on the road and not wave at it because it's not yours any more, and I'll see your new truck on the road and not wave at it because it's generic. WTF.

But seriously now, that's a sharp truck and not a bad move to have made. And it's good to know you've not gone over to the dark side and started dating outside your species!

Wow, that was sudden! Dang man, what can I say...Love 2nd gens, but the new 2010 is sooo freaking nice. I'm jealous!!

Well, hope you enjoy your new whip, and take real good of her! Not often you get a brand new decked out truck!

So let the modifications begin! What are your plans for it? Or you just gonna ride it around stock for a while?

Can we get a few more exterior shots plz?

It's only a generic truck for now, I haven't seen one like this around here yet though, but it will eventually stand out again like my old one as I rebuild my savings, lol.

Yea it's not often you get a brand new truck, I bought it with 17 miles on the odometer and I put a couple miles on another new truck before getting this one, lol.

It'll be stock for maybe the first 2-3 months as I get use to paying for a more expensive truck and find out what the gas consumption is like, it's got a 32 gal tank lol. But once I build some money back up it's getting the usual, a programmer, TB, intake, and a better freeflowing exhaust with flowmaster super 44 muffler. Then comes the off-road mods, a lift, 17's, 35's, gears, better suspension ect... that's in no particular order really, it'll all happen as I can afford it and a what not.

And yes, I'll get more pictures of the exterior. I would have more but my camera decided not to focus on some of the pictures and I had to run to work right after I finished uploading the pictures.

I don't see a Rambox on that thing.

I've poked around 4th. gen a couple times and I've seen them say that the exhaust note is greatly improved if you chop the factory resonators off. Why would anyone want resonators on a v8 anyway? I just don't understand how anyone likes not being able to tell if their vehicle is running or not because it's so quiet.

I didn't get much for the old truck because it isn't running really, the tranny is done. But I'm getting $1400. I snagged the new truck for 38,000.

Yea the truck is rather quiet, sometimes when I start it and mess around inside for a minute, I have to stop and listen for a second to see if I started it or not. I could always look at the tech though, lol. But yea, I will have those removed when I do my exhaust.
