1995 Dodge 1500 4x4 5.2L No Power Idles fine
Hey all, got a question about my sons truck.
-Bought a 1500 4x4 for my son with auto transmission in back, condition of engine/tranny unknown.
-Rebuilt the tranny and re-installed. Seems to work good.
--Replaced the exhaust connector pipe/cat setup as previous owner had cut old one to remove tranny.(dummy) gerry-rigged an exhaust and truck is quiet now.
---On a test drive I assume the EGR plastic solenoid met the hot exhaust and melted. All of a sudden truck had no power.
----Brought truck home (limped) and remove plastic egr switch and plugged all 3 lines.
-----tried to testdrive but no power, idles fine engine sounds good, but will not take the throttle.
------removed fuel line as I suspected fuel pump not pumping but seems good. (lots of fuel until relay shuts off)
-------checked for vacuum leaks but cannot find any more.
--------It currently has the following codes: 37 and 32...37 overheated tranny code that apparently is always there if you do not have the sensor on a 1995. And 32 is the EGR which is disconnected.
Would the lack of an EGR control (plastic switchbox) casue truck to have no power yet idle/start good?
Any other SWAGs or comments?
Thanks..

Intake manifold gasket appears to be blown.
I put my hand on top of the throttle body with it running and it does not suck my hand much. If I operator the butterfly with my hand there it sounds better than without my hand there.
