4.3L is actually a good solid engine. Even it is in a crappy Chevy...interiors that fall apart and break...ugly looking...but run good!

At least you ain't gotta beat on the Ram now right?

all i can say is every one that iv encountered in the shop has had a spun bearing or blown head gasket in its life time and the autowrecker's can't seem to keep them in stock..even 350 vortec's are getting expensive the last one i got quoted out on was 1995 retail and thats a used engine...

We have a cargo van with a 4.3 in it. No problems this far and not bad on power for a v6.

I hate to have to agree with some of these fine folks, but I can attest to the Blazers becoming a money pit...

(hahaha, after posting, I realized that I posted a pic of it in a PIT after just callin it a money pit....)

We've had this for a couple years, solely driven by my wife, and I bet we've put as much into it as we paid for it.... tranny, fuel pump, wheelbearings, u joints, had a ton of engine problems with it for a while.... the list goes on trust me, most of these guys here have heard me griping about it lol.... A friend of mine has one and he has put well over 5 or 6 grand into his in repairs last I heard....

Not tryin to discourage ya, just sayin..... Take care of it and keep up on any problems before they turn into big ones

My brother has a 03 PoS-10 with the 4.3 Vortec, and it seems like once a month, he's making some sort of repair to it. Just this last weekend he was having problems with his power steering.
