I am wondering if i can get away from switching out gear ratios in the front and rearend by getting a tranny with different gears or transfer case with different gearing. Maybe there are some other option? Perhaps i will have to live with my 3.90's and 35's.

 

There are over/under drives available that go between the trans, and transfer case, but, they also require custom driveshafts. When all is said and done, doing gears might just turn out to be cheaper.

You are not able to change gear ratios in the trans, nor are there transmissions that'll go in there with different ratios. Unless you spend BIG money on a custom trans.....

You can change your Low range in the transfer case, but, that isn't exactly going to help either....... most of those go down to something in the neighborhood of 4something to 1...... 5000 rpm at 55? probably not what you were doing for.
