Default '97 Ram. With rear end knocked out of.

My truck was stolen and crashed. The guy hit a telephone pole with the
right side of the bed. The leaf springs and axle on right side were torn
loose. The insurance has offered a little over 4k for it. I am trying to
decide if I should take the 3300 and have it fixed. The estimate was near
5k. If anyone has any knowledge on putting in a rear end and new bed I
would be interested in hearing about it. Thanks for the read.

Sounds messy...ditch it and take the money...you can always buy another good solid Ram for that price. Unless it is sentimental or something....then it is a different story.

I also say you should take the money and find yourself another truck. A wrecked vehicle, no matter how good it may be repaired, will never be the same as it was.... That's what I would probably have to do in that situation, even though I am quite attached to mine lol.... Good luck with whatever you decide to do

If you don't feel like getting a new truck, you can go to the junkyard and get new springs and rear end..thats what my sister did. Her truck drives just fine.

If your really thinking about doing the work then my biggest suggestion is to have it towed to a shop that can check the frame, if its straight, then a new bed, rear axle and leafs all from the JY and your good, if its not straight say goodbye

I can almost guarantee the frame isn't straight. Take the money and run.
