Possibly of interest to some of you blokes:
"Wait till the 2nd guys get a hold of this..."

And that the truth!
I would love to do something with my dash, but alas, I don't have the time.
Although some on here might....
Thanks for posting that thread up Hammer!

Dash cracking? Nahh, its just an urban myth
J/K, Ive been fortunate I guess.
Neither of mine are cracked & I have a Monster tach w/memory on the Indys dash
Lots of luck trying to get the stealers to replace them on a genII that is well past is best before date.

I guess I must be lucky too, because my dash is in perfect condition. Maybe it was replaced before I owned it. Actually my whole interior is in great shape except for the headliner. I wish my exterior was as good as the interior.
Out of 6 Dodge Rams that have been in my family (including mine) only one of them have ever had a cracked dash, which was the Indy and that was only cause the monster tach broke it...
I say Dodge Rams dashes are excellent and will last forever if you take good care of them...IMO

Had no problems with my 1994. But I bought my 2001 with two parallel cracks above the airbag, no big deal, barely noticeable. But just over this weekend a huge crack the size of the San Andreas Fault appeared over my instrument cluster. I take VERY good care of my trucks, do no off-roading or anything like that. I can't explain it! I blame a lot of things wrong with cars these days on operator error or poor maintenance, but this, like the plenum problem, is seriously a manufacturer problem.
